Fibroblast skin tightening
San Diego fibroblast skin tightening

This revolutionary non-surgical cosmetic procedure uses a specialized, FDA-approved medical plasma device to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin, resulting in a smoother, firmer, and more youthful look. The procedure works by using the voltage in the air between the device's tip and the natural gasses emitted just above the skin to form a true "plasma" charge. This tiny arc of electricity shortens, contracts, and tightens targeted skin tissue instantly, activating the fibroblasts in the skin.

Fibroblasts are a type of cell that synthesizes the extracellular matrix and collagen and plays a critical role in wound healing. The Fibroblast Skin Tightening method has many advantages over cosmetic surgery, which makes it an increasingly popular treatment. There is no cutting of the skin, which means that there are no stitches required, and clients can return to work much sooner.

Plasma Skin Tightening is a relatively new innovation in the beauty industry in North America but has been used for a number of years in Europe. The extremely accurate device works by an electrical arc being created and instantly shrinking the targeted skin. The tissue retraction and tightening give results that are comparable to invasive surgery, without the risks and downtime associated with surgery.

The results of the Fibroblast treatment are permanent and may be visible for years. However, it's important to acknowledge that the aging process is continuous and the skin ages every day after the procedure. This cannot be stopped. The results of this method are permanent, and the procedure may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated, which usually takes 6 to 8 weeks after the initial treatment. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve a perfect result.

If you're looking to eliminate signs of aging by tightening and lifting sagging skin, Plasma Lift may be the perfect solution for you. So why wait? Contact us today to book your appointment and discover the amazing benefits of Plasma Lift!

AFTER CARE & what to expect

You may have a burning sensation, redness, and swelling immediately following your treatment, similar to a sunburn. This is completely normal and to be expected. Swelling can sometimes get a bit worse over the first few hours and then resolve itself. If it is overly uncomfortable, you may take a Tylenol.

  • If you are receiving a Plasma Pen treatment anywhere on your face or neck, we recommend you sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling.

  • Do NOT exercise 5-7 days after treatment or expose yourself to any heat, steam or sweat because this can intensify the inflammation that’s already present.

  • The area that has been treated must NOT be covered with occlusive dressing or any type of sunblock, make-up, mascara, creams or any other products until the area has fully healed. Many ingredients in skin care products and cosmetics can irritate skin and cause allergic reactions. Ultimately this will slow you’re your healing process and possibly impede desired results.

  • To ensure proper healing and desired results, it is important to avoid covering the treated area with occlusive dressing, sunblock, make-up, mascara, creams, or any other products until it has fully healed. Skin care products and cosmetics contain ingredients that can irritate the skin and cause allergic reactions, which can slow down the healing process and potentially hinder the desired outcome.

  • To prevent swelling, it is important to avoid standing with your face under a hot shower for the first 3-4 days after treatment. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid shower gels or hair products running onto your face as they can cause irritation and inflammation. If any products do come into contact with the treated area(s), rinse thoroughly with tepid water.

  • Keep scabs/crusts moist by applying provided aftercare three times a day – but only in small amounts, do not soak the area.

  • During the first 12 hours after treatment, it is crucial to protect yourself from potential infections by avoiding activities that could expose you to contaminants. It is important to keep your hands away from anything that comes into contact with the treatment area.

  • It is normal for the area that has been treated to be red/pink, swollen and feel tight and dry. Occasional weeping is normal and will settle.

  • Tiny crusts will quickly form on the treated area. These may be visible for up to about a week.

  • Do NOT pick crusts off as this will delay the healing process and could cause hyperpigmentation and scarring.

  • After the scabs have fallen off (usually around 7 days), your skin may appear slightly pink. You can resume applying your regular foundation, make-up, and sunblock at this point. However, it is important to avoid using skincare products that contain glycolic, salicylic, retinoic, AHA, scrubs, Clarisonic, or any other active exfoliating ingredients or devices for at least 21 days to prevent irritation. It is crucial to refrain from applying any makeup until the scabs have completely fallen off.

  • Avoid sun exposure. Once the scabs have fallen off, you must wear a physical sunblock (zinc & titanium) and a hat while your skin is in the healing stages (pink in color) and you should continue to do so for at least the next 12 weeks to avoid hyperpigmentation.

  • Do NOT sunbath/sun tanning beds for 10–12 week post procedure

  • On top of the immediate rejuvenation, lifting and tightening effects you will likely experience from Plasma Pen, it takes 8 to 12 weeks for the full effects of your treatment to be seen.

Plasma lift skin tightening is a versatile treatment that can be applied to almost all areas of the body. It is especially effective in treating areas that were previously difficult to treat, such as the upper and lower eyelids and the fine lines around the mouth. The procedure is commonly used to address static wrinkles and loose sagging skin on the face, neck, and jawline, as well as loose skin on the arms or abdomen. Additionally, it is a viable option for reducing the appearance of acne scars and other types of scarring.

who is a candidate for plasma lift?

Plasma skin tightening is ideal for individuals who want to enhance the appearance, volume, and elasticity of their skin. However, there are certain circumstances that may make you unsuitable for the procedure. It is not recommended for individuals who:

  • Have an active Herpes Simplex Virus outbreak

  • Have a pacemaker

  • Prone to keloid scarring

  • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have received Botox injections recently

  • Have diabetes

  • Have taken Accutane within the past year

how does it work?

The Plasmalift Fibroblast Skin Tightening service uses a specialized, FDA-approved medical plasma device to create a plasma charge between its tip and the natural gases emitted just above the skin. This plasma charge produces a tiny arc of electricity that shortens, contracts, and tightens targeted skin tissue instantly. This process stimulates the body's natural healing process and encourages the creation of new fibroblast cells responsible for the development of collagen and elastin, which enhance natural volume and tighten the skin. The treatment is effective in addressing wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and excess skin on various areas of the body, including the face, stomach, and arms. Improvements are visible immediately, but final results will be seen after twelve weeks. The number of procedures needed per person will vary according to the area being treated, skin laxity, and individual's age and response to the treatment.

what are the risks?

Although no medical procedure is entirely without risks, the Plasma Pen is generally considered a safe treatment. Adverse reactions such as skin discoloration and scarring are possible but rare. If proper care is taken during the healing process, the likelihood of complications is minimal.
